34. She asked if he smoked or drank. He didn't. She asked if he flossed. "After every meal," he said proudly. She examined his teeth. She said he might need two new fillings. She called her supervising dentist over. He examined Larry's teeth. "This is very nice gold work," he said. Larry said USC had done it. The dentist said, "I knew it! USC does outstanding gold work!" He said Larry didn't need new fillings. "Fillings naturally discolor over time," he told the student dentist. "These are just fine." He left. She said, "Come with me. We'll make an appointment to clean your teeth." She gave him an appointment for September 30 at 8:30 a.m. He washed his hands when he got home. He looked in the bathroom mirror. He saw a piece of food stuck between two of his upper teeth. He had forgotten to floss before his dental appointment! 2.7
